Earth's Closing Hours

      Pool Of Bethesda…

 In Jerusalem by the sheep market pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent persons, of the blind and physically crippled, with various ailments and diseases.  At certain seasons the waters of this pool were agitated. Which was commonly believed that this was the result of supernatural power, and whom so ever stepped into the whirling waters would be completely healed. Hundreds of visitors visited this pool. When the waters were swirling some victims became underfoot and trampled, with the intent of the rushing sick to obtain their healing.  Many could not reach the pool edge because of their weakness of sickness or the crowd pushing them away. Shelters had been erected to help protect the sick from the heat of the day and the chillness at night. There were some who spent the nights there hoping to inch their way to the pool, in the vain of relief.

 JESUS was again at Jerusalem. Walking alone, He came to the pool. HE saw the sufferers watching for that which they supposed to be their only chance of a cure. HE longed to exercise HIS Healing Power, and make every sufferer whole. But it was the Sabbath Day. Multitudes were going to the temple for worship, and HE knew that such an act of healing would excite the prejudice of the Jews as to cut short His Work. The Saviour saw one case of supreme wretchedness. It was that of a man who had been a helpless cripple for thirty-eight years. His disease was in a great degree the result of his own sin, and was looked upon as a judgement from GOD. Alone and friendless, feeling that he was shut out from GOD’s Mercy, the sufferer had passed long years of misery. He was placed by the pool’s edge from those who pitied him. But, when the waters swirled the crowd would ignore and push him aside. He had suffered many years there. The sick man laid upon his mat and over him he heard a voice. “Wilt thou be made whole?” He remembered the multitudes of attempts to reach the waters, and became dismayed once more. “Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: that while I am coming, another step down before me.” JESUS did not ask this sufferer to exercise his faith in Him. HE simply says, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” The man takes hold of JESUS’s promising words.. every nerve, muscle obtains a newness and a healthful vitality comes into his crippled limbs. Without questioning, he sets his will to obey the command of Christ. Springing to his feet, he finds himself an active man. The restored paralytic stooped to take up his bed, which was only a small rug and a blanket, and as he straightened himself again with a sense of newness. JESUS had not given him no assurance of Divine Help. This paralytic could of doubted Him, and would of lost his body’s healing. But, he believed in Christ’s Words, and in his faith received his healing. Through this sameness of faith we are to accept and live, along side The Saviour’s Promises; of a New Life granted upon us.. whom cherish this Beautiful Gift Of His Mercy and Grace.

 He looked around for his Deliverer; but, JESUS was gone among the crowd. The man feared that he himself would not know Him; if he met him again. As he hurried on his way with firm, free steps praising GOD and rejoicing in his new found strength and body, he met several of the Pharisees, and immediately told them of his healing. There was a cold reception of this news received by them. They interrupted his testamony and reminded him of the unlawfulness of carrying his bed on the Sabbath. They also, asked where this One was. These religious rulers knew well that only One had shown Himself able to perform this miracle; but they wished for direct proof that it was JESUS, that they might condemn Him as a Sabbath breaker. in their judgement He had not only broken the law in healing the sick man on the Sabbath, but had committed sacrilege in bidding him to carry his bedding.  In the temple JESUS met this man whom He had healed. He had come to bring a sin offering and also a thank offering for the great mercy he had received. Finding him among the worshipers, JESUS made Himself known, with the warning, “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” The healed man was joyous in meeting his Delivere. Ignorant of the enmity toward JESUS, he told the Pharisees who had questioned him, that this was He who had performed the cure. “Therefore did the Jews persecute JESUS, and sought to slay Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath day.” JESUS stated to them that the work of relieving the afflicted was in harmony with the Sabbath law. It was in harmony with the work of GOD. “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” GOD’s Holy Rest Day was made for man, and acts of mercy are in perfect harmony with its intent. GOD does not desire His Creatures to suffer an hour’s pain that may be relieved upon The Sabbath or any other day.

 The demands of GOD are even greater upon The Sabbath, than any other days. HIS People then leave their usual employment and spend time in meditation and worship. They reverence The Creator Over All… In reflection of his creatures and creative living things. To petition Almighty GOD for His Favor with our prayer requests, is exceptionally received and blessed… The Sabbath is not intended for useless inactivity nor secular activity. The toiling for livelihood must cease; no labor in finance, occupational or unneeded chores. Commerce is a secular commodity. To honor Almighty GOD in fellowship with other believers; to worship Him through scripture, prayer, nature outings, inspirational DVDs, CDs, tapes, biblical stories, lessons, etc. To go and visit the elderly, the sick, the lonely, those who need to see that tender heart and a gentle hand; in The Heart Of JESUS… The SABBATH: Is A Day Of Healing… John 5:1-18; Chapter 5.

In this blog, I only mention several of JESUS’s Healings. When, you read through the Books of The New Testament; you will discover many miraculous wonders Christ offered to HIS People. It is said, that it would take another earth to contain written books of JESUS’s Healings and Teachings..

 Healing In Synagogue…  Luke 4:33-37 & Mark 1:21-28

  Mark 1:21-28..    21.)JESUS and His Disciples went into Capernaum; on The Sabbath and went directly into their synagogue. 22.)They were astonished at JESUS’s Teaching of doctrine; for He taught them as One with Authority, and not as the scribes. 23.)There in the synagogue was a man with an unclean (evil) spirit; and he cried out, 24.)Saying, “Let us alone; what have we to do with Thee, Thou, JESUS Of Nazareth? Art Thou come to destroy us? I know Thee who You are, The Holy One Of GOD. 25.)And JESUS rebuked him, saying “Hold thy peace, and come out of him!” 26.)And after the spirit had tormented him, and cried with a loud voice and left the man. 27.)The Jewish members were all amazed, in so much that they questioned among themselves. The authority and doctrine that was commanded, permitting to be obeyed by even these spirits. 28.)Immediately HIS Fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

       Peter’s Mother-in-Law…

 While the congregation in the synagogue were still spellbound with awe, with JESUS’s Healing the man. HE withdrew to Peter’s home for a little rest. But, there also, a shadow of illness had fallen. The mother of Peter’s wife had fallen sick with a severe fever. JESUS rebuked the disease, and the woman arose, and waited upon JESUS and His Disciples.

 Tidings of His Work spread rapidly throughout Capernaum. For fear of the rabbis(Jewish priests), the people dared not come for healing on the Sabbath; but, no sooner had the sun disappeared below the horizon than there was a great commotion. From their homes, the inhabitants of the city pressed toward the humble dwelling of Peter’s home. The sick were brought upon couches, they came leaning on staffs, or supported by friends, they came in eager submission before Christ’s Presence.

 Hour after hour they came; fearing that The Healer might leave before their arrival. Never before had Capernaum witnessed a day as this. The air was filled with voices of triumph and shouts of deliverance. The Saviour was pleased at the joy received by many. The Father’s Glory was being bestowed upon the desperate crowd of seekers. HIS Heart was stirred and rejoiced in His Power to restore them to health and happiness. JESUS healed late into the night. After the multitude departed, Simon’s (Peter’s) home settled and while the town’s people slumbered; JESUS went out to pray to His Father, in the early morning hours, before daybreak.   Matthew 8:14,15; Mark 1:29-31; Luke 4:38,39.
